TIPS FOR STEAMING AT HOME
Boil about 4 cups of water and combine with 1/2 cup of herbs. Cover pot and let steep for 3-5 minutes. Remove the pot from heat and carefully pour the herb and water mixture into a safe heat bowl.
Test the steam with your hand before kneeling over the bowl. The steam should be hot but not burning. Kneel or sit over the bowl and make sure your skirt or blanket covers you completely, containing the steam.
Find a comfortable position and steam anywhere between 10-30 minutes. You may want to consider using pillows or padding under your knees to increase comfort. This is the perfect time to meditate, set intentions, journal, or enrich yourself with great music.
When you are done, return the herbs back to the earth or dispose carefully not to clog drains.
